I'll look for this one. I've traveled in Beaujolais and have done my best to expose Americans to the category, but Cru Beaujolais is a tough sell in the U.S. The Nouveau craze basically ruined it for everyone, unfortunately.

Same in Japan!!! Yes, the US and Japan are the two countries where Nouveau is insanely popular. Plus, a notoriously clever idea from a Japanese advertising company played a big role in Japan—since Japan is ahead of France in time zones, they marketed it as the first place in the world to enjoy Nouveau on the third Thursday of November. This year, I posted in Japanese to encourage Japanese people to drink Cru Beaujolais instead of Nouveau, just before that day. I love Crus!!
